I am certain many have been asking: Why Covid? Why so globally? Why now? And I have addressed some of these inquiries in previous articles. But at that time I wasn’t speaking from expertise, I was simply sharing my theories about it without getting verified them in practical terms. Nicely, now I have verified at least one particular of these theories, and I am eager to share it.
We have all heard about connectedness and oneness, and how Covid is (hopefully) bringing us a step closer to those experiences, seeing how we are all in this with each other. But then again, are we definitely all in this with each other? Personally, I am not so confident about that hunting at the controversies in government policies (especially in nations where elections are taking location in the course of the pandemic), the push-backs from the public against restrictions (not a lot of us are willingness to sacrifice our “valuable” routines for the higher very good), and extra recently – the distribution of vaccines (these who spend extra get a lot more).
So what are we missing? When and how are we finally going to learn the lesson? And what is that lesson?
Actually, Covid gives us an apparent clue both about the What we have to have to discover and the How. What Covid individuals practical experience and in some situations die from is lack of air. And air is the really point that connects us all. To use one of Jessica Dibb’s observations, we can develop an in-group and an out-group (i.e. manifest separation) based on race, profession, gender, age, social characteristics, appears, and so forth. But there is one common denominator which, when applied, leads us automatically to oneness – the breath. Thus, no matter what beliefs, traumas and preferences we have, we all belong to the group of breathers. And the breath (which, as I have come to encounter, is the embodiment of Spirit), is what connects us all and gives us the physical, somatic practical experience of oneness. BUT only if pcr test spend consideration to it!
Surprise, surprise – Covid is bringing our focus and awareness specifically to the breath. As such, Covid is asking us to begin living a additional spiritually oriented life: a life where we are certainly extra connected, a life lived in the NOW. Importantly, by bringing our concentrate to the breathing, Covid is not only showing us the lesson we want to find out, i.e. the lesson of oneness it is also displaying us how we can learn said lesion, and that is just by staying focused on the breath and practicing conscious breathing.
With no a doubt, conscious breathing is what can give us a direct spiritual knowledge (albeit in physical bodies). I personally learnt that by way of becoming forced (right after getting infected with Covid) to pay interest to the breath. Not that I hadn’t dabbled in numerous yoga and meditation practices just before. But this time the shift in awareness was so profound! Armed with a somewhat survival-driven motivation at the starting of the illness, I dove deep into many breathing tactics, and the far more intimately I got to know conscious breathing, the extra my practical experience of separation was dissolving. I was feeling so significantly lighter, happier and, of course, additional connected. I was receiving the lesson! Additional importantly, I was healing a illness not brought on by Covid but merely highlighted by it.
Sadly, I think the complete planet is sick with that very same disease – the disease of Separation. Hence, we have a global pandemic. This pandemic has managed to highlight in a brilliant way the pervasiveness of the pathology we all endure from, the breathlessness and lack of connectedness all through the globe. Covid is just the red light right here signaling we want to repair the engine. And it is not going away in a hurry, at least not until we all come to be conscious of the actual trouble and get started taking the suitable action towards resolving it. The true challenge, indeed, is a profound spiritual disconnect. We, as a planet, have reached the hallmark of Separation. Therefore, Covid is screaming at us: “Use the breath, people today, and connect!”
On the face of it, I wholeheartedly encourage you to seek out some conscious breathing practices and get started incorporating them in your life (if you have not currently). Talking about oneness doesn’t help you feel it. Conscious breathing, on the other hand, takes us straight to the physical practical experience of oneness, to the embodiment of spirituality. Try it for your self and I am confident you will never look back. It only takes a few conscious breaths to modify your point of view, and a different point of view opens doors to new, fascinating and limitless possibilities.
